Joginder Singh: Leading with Optimism, Humanity, and a Vision for the Future of Work

In an age where technology is redefining how organizations function, Joginder Singh stands out as a leader who places people at the center of every transformation. With a career spanning over 17 years across industries such as power, media, financial services, and now pharmaceuticals, he has consistently shown that while systems may evolve from pen-and-paper to artificial intelligence, the core of human resource management remains human connection. From his early beginnings in a farming family to leading HR functions for thousands of employees across India, Joginder’s story is one of resilience, adaptability, and unwavering belief in people.

Early Life and Education - Lessons from the Fields

Joginder Singh’s journey begins in a small village Makhand (Uchana) in Jind district, where he was raised in a farming family. The rhythm of rural life taught him lessons that no textbook could. He often recalls his father’s words:

Losses are bound to happen; farming depends on nature, and floods or droughts can erase months of hard work. But what matters is not carrying the baggage of the past and instead focusing on the present and future.

This philosophy of optimism and perseverance shaped Joginder from a very young age. He completed his schooling in 2001 at Dayanand College, Hisar, and went on to pursue a B.Sc. from Kurukshetra University (2002-2005). His interest in understanding human behaviour and organizational structures pushed him towards management studies, leading him to complete an MBA from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (2006-2008).

Even after establishing himself professionally, Joginder continued to push his boundaries. Recognizing the evolving complexities of leadership and human resource management, he undertook an Executive Programme in Human Resource Management (EPHRM) from IIM Calcutta (2019-2020). For him, education has never been a phase of life-it is a continuous journey.

Professional Journey - From Paper Files to AI Dashboards

Joginder’s career began in 2007 with a Management Trainee Internship at North India Power Limited, a stepping stone that gave him his first exposure to corporate structures. He soon secured a campus placement with Source Mind as an HR Executive (2008-2009), where he began applying his academic learning to real-world workforce challenges.

In 2009, he joined Emediatek TPA Services Ltd. as an HR Manager, overseeing a workforce of over 600 employees. This role taught him the importance of scale-how to balance policies with personal touch when managing large teams.

The next chapter of his career came with the DB Corp - Dainik Bhaskar Group (2012-2016), where he spent three years with Divya Marathi in Mumbai and a year at DB Corp Jaipur. As Manager HR, he worked closely with diverse editorial and business teams, understanding the cultural nuances of a rapidly growing media organization.

In 2016, Joginder transitioned into financial services, joining TVS Credit Services Ltd., Delhi as Senior HRBP. Over eight years, he became an integral part of the organization, shaping the experiences of 4,000+ employees. His tenure here coincided with the digitalization of HR practices, and Joginder navigated this shift with clarity-ensuring that while automation streamlined processes, employees continued to feel valued as individuals.

Today, Joginder serves as Head HR at Panacea Biotec Pharma Ltd., leading three major functions: Sales & Marketing, IT, and Learning & Development. His role is not just about policies and processes-it is about ensuring that people in these critical departments grow, adapt, and stay motivated in industries that demand constant innovation.

Philosophy - People First, Always

Having witnessed HR evolve from pen-and-paper records to AI-driven dashboards, Joginder believes that while tools may change, the essence of human resource management cannot. In his own words: “AI and automation will be big in HR, but people are people, not machines. They need human touchpoints at every stage of their professional lives.”

For him, technology is a tool to be used optimally-helpful in efficiency but never a substitute for empathy. He encourages professionals to embrace AI with discernment: know what to keep, what to discard, but never lose the ability to think, create, and decide with objectivity. His personal motto has always been to keep reading, keep learning, and keep evolving-because the moment one stops growing mentally, one stops leading.

Impact - Touching Lives Across Sectors

Joginder’s impact cannot be measured merely in numbers or titles. It lies in the thousands of employees who found clarity, growth, and support under his leadership. From power companies to media houses, from financial services to pharmaceuticals, he has built workplaces where people feel heard and valued.

At TVS Credit, his initiatives improved employee engagement and shaped careers across a workforce of more than 6,000 individuals. At Panacea Biotec, he is now applying the same ethos to three core departments, ensuring that professionals in sales, technology, and learning not only perform but thrive. His ability to balance organizational needs with individual aspirations has made him a trusted leader wherever he has worked.

Looking Ahead - A Vision for People-Centric Consulting

Joginder Singh’s story is far from complete. Looking to the future, he aspires to pursue a PhD in Psychology and become a people-centric consultant. In a world increasingly filled with chaos, his focus will be on helping individuals remain calm while enhancing their true potential.

Rooted in his farming family’s wisdom, equipped with decades of corporate experience, and guided by his philosophy of optimism, Joginder envisions creating frameworks where organizations and individuals can both flourish.

Sharing the Journey on Public Platforms

His expertise has made him a respected speaker and panelist at corporate forums, HR conferences, and academic institutions. Whether addressing industry leaders or young professionals, Joginder speaks with the conviction of someone who has lived through change and believes firmly in one principle: that people remain the foundation of every successful organization, regardless of how advanced technology becomes.

The Essence of His Journey

From a small village in Jind to leading HR functions in multi-industry organizations, Joginder Singh’s life story is one of resilience, adaptability, and hope. He has lived through eras of change-from registers to Excel sheets to AI dashboards-but his message remains constant: technology may evolve, but the human spirit must always lead.

In every organization he has touched, he has left behind a culture of trust, empathy, and growth. And in the years to come, as he transitions towards research and consulting, his mission remains unchanged-to unlock human potential and build workplaces where impact is not just measured, but felt.
